The tunnel is working, the pavement is not: Silvertown at 18 months
Eighteen months after the Silvertown Tunnel opened, TfL's own monitoring shows the crossing has changed traffic patterns on both sides of the river. But the real test is not the tunnel itself. It is whether City Hall and the boroughs will fund the bus, walking and wayfinding improvements that make the new capacity work for people without cars.
